    Farm Gate

    Reducing the risk of theft

One of the negatives in our neck of the woods is that there are people out there who will steal anything. So, part of the battle to reduce theft is to reduce the level of opportunity to steal. Our idea was to weld the pins onto the gate. The gate will still pivot, it just won’t be easy to simply lift the gate off its hinges.

    Peeling the logs.

We’ve seen log fencing before, different types too, and we’ve always liked them. The idea is install a post and rail log fence down the left side of the driveway. The driveway runs about 170-180 ft and we want the log fencing to run pretty much the whole length.

Pool Perimeter Custom Fence part 2

Yes, its been 10 days but the weather hasn’t always co-operated either. Then there’s weekends…all that’s left is the gate and to cut off the tops of the posts. Interestingly, the sound around the pool has changed. Its a lot more crisp and clear.

There were a couple days where it rained hard, thankfully we had the garage to work from to do all the cutting.

    Lots and lots of cutting.

    Pool Perimeter Custom Fence

    November 15, 2005 /
    Pool needs a fence.
    Pool needs a fence.

A friend asked for some help in building a custom fence around their pool. They found a fence design on the Internet that they wanted duplicated. The first three pictures here are where I came in to the project. The 6×6 posts were already installed. The posts average 8 ft apart, two sections between the house and the garage are 10ft apart. A couple section to the rear are 5 ft. And yes…that is one BIG German Shepherd dog!
