Experimenting with router bits
Freud straight bit 1/8 inch While making my sliding garage screen door I got the idea for making use of some scrollsaw patterns I own. Maybe I could decor the door, you know, dress it up a bit. And it starts with router bits, what to use based on what’s available.

Sliding Screen Door for the Garage
Screen door for the garage The attached garage is a place we use to store firewood during the winter. Usually we can keep about a cord at a time. For some time now I’ve wanted to have a screen door at the entrance to allow a cross breeze with the windows on the opposite side of the garage. It would help keep the humidity down, which is something I’ve noticed a lot this year.
So I present to you the nothing fancy sliding screen door.

Flat file map cabinets make great workshop storage
Recycled for workshop storage. I purchased two of these 5 drawer map cabinets. They are big! Too big for the house, which was the original destination. They are 48 inches wide and 36 inches deep. Two units stacked on top of each other makes a height of 36 inches.

Recycled map cabinets make for high capacity storage
Recycling cabinets I obtained this bulk lot of 20 map cabinets at a government surplus auction. I was going to keep a few and sell the rest. But, nobody was interested so I am recycling them as storage solutions for the workshop.

Refinishing country pine projects
Getting ready to spray. Gina acquired a quilt stand from her mom today, it was built by her Uncle Burton many years ago. She wanted to paint it, along with the bathroom tissue cabinet I made years ago, so first thing to do is sand down all the parts.

Quick and Dirty Router Table
The 10 minute router table. This is about as basic a router table can be. I needed something on a job site and put this 4 board cabinet together in about 10 minutes from scrap wood.

Mobile clamp rack
Scrap wood portable clamp rack. I made this clamp rack for the workshop to store clamps of various types and sizes. I simply made use of scrap wood left over from when our house was built in 2005/2006.

Hand saw push stick
Getting a grip on workshop safety We all know push sticks are part of the safety tools in the workshop. Something as a straight stick will do. Depending on the purpose or comfort wished, pretty much anything goes.
