Changing up the Entryway
With the heat continuing outdoors (humidity sucks) work continues indoors. When we painted the living room two weeks ago, we brought the same paint into the entryway since they are open to each other. We just painted the upper portion of the walls knowing we would get around to finishing it off sooner or later. No time like the present.

Painting and Flooring: Part 2
We are still plugging away at a neighbours house, and yes…we are still painting. Yesterday we almost finished all the painting in the master vanity/walk-in closet/toilet-tub area but we ran out of white paint.
Here is the before of the closet… walls, ceiling, trim…everything was beige.

Wainscot is done, now to the walnut flooring. This post covers the final month of this remodel. All the little bitty things that need to get done before the dust pan is put away.

2 hours of filling nail holes and seams. Ran out of molding and caulking, so another trip to the hardware store. There’s about 15 ft left to install.

Trimming the wainscot boxes. Spent about 6.5 hours of cutting and installing the pine trim moldings for inside the wainscot boxes… all 32 boxes!

Basement walk in entrance wainscot, done! About 2 hours of more sanding and painting. We have finished the entrance room. Really starting to look nice!

We’re at the paint stage! About 3 hours finish sanding, caulking joints around window trim, more sanding and painting.

Filling in the gaps. Between yesterday and today I spent about 10 hours installing the window trim, applying two coats of filler, drying overnight between coats.

Be prepared for plenty of dust. Yesterday and today I spent a total of about 10 hours of cutting, glueing, nailing, installing and making a mess. The work is slowly starting to change the feel of the room. Weird how that works…or maybe its just me. 🙂
