I did it!! I made my own basket. That’s what you have to do if you can’t find what you want… when you want it. And I would do it again and just might.
It all started when we received a snake plant from my sister for our anniversary last week. I took off the wrapping and saw it needed to be repotted so I did that but it still looked naked.
I know, I know, it isn’t Christmas just yet but when it comes time to decorate I like to have all my ducks in a row…or in this case all my stockings in a row. I keep saying sewing isn’t really my thing, but some things require the misery in order to get to the finish line. Case in point…I wanted a couple of decorative Christmas stockings. I have plenty of material left over from my sewing spree earlier in the year that I decided to use. And that material is drop cloth or painters cloth.
Turns out I am the queen of sewing a straight line. Who knew! With my recent success at painting and sewing new pillows and a table runner, I figured I would try my hand at sewing drapes. I know…I must be out of my mind. Regardless, I headed back to Canadian Tire to buy some more painters drop cloths. Go figure…I needed two and they only had one left. I bought it anyways on the promise that they were ordering more and they would be in stock soon. Before I show you my brilliance, here is a look at the before.
