Field testing
Its always a good idea to have sample boards for staining and finishing. The wood samples here are some scrap spruce and fir in the workshop. I touched the surfaces with the sander but still a fairly rough finish. I mostly want to see how this software absorbs different stains. -
Building an air solar panel
I had this idea over a year ago, just getting around to trying it out now. I am going to build a air source solar panel box using recycled cardboard tubes, a piece of plywood and a clear plastic panel I bought at the store. Follow along, ask questions and provide comments!

Storing plank lumber
I completed this race car bed last week for a customer. All I need now is for them to pick it up so that I can continue with my projects.

Sanding the race car tires
I am about near finished the side panels for the race car bed. Today I am working on finishing the sanding, using a hand file and some sandpaper. Hind sight being 20/20 I would of put the flush trim bit on the router table and would of had all four wheels done in less than a minute. Ah, the price you pay from learning after the fact. 🙂

Bosch Sander 3107DVS
I bought this Bosch 3107DVS random orbit sander many years ago. Its probably orbited the moon and back :). Its starting to show its age though. Currently having trouble with the sanding discs sticking to the pad.

Router bit bearing blow out
What is worse than a bearing breaking on a flush trim router bit? Having that broken bit travel into the project panel and gouging a hole that is not suppose to be there. This little video talks about that incident and a solution for fixing it, so that we can continue with building this race car bed.

Drawing arches in the workshop
There are probably several simple ways to draw arches in the workshop. For this children’s bed that I am building, I used what I had near me to get the task done quickly.
