Cantilevered Plant Stand
This was a quick and fun project that I can now cancel off the ol’ to-do list. I’ve seen them called cantilevered stand or anti-gravity stand. What ever you call it, I have one now. I’ve seen them hold a fish bowl with water so should be strong enough for a small plant.

Washing Machine Lint Catchers
Have you ever heard of these things?? I bought a pack of 4 washing machine lint catcher removers on Amazon a few months back not expecting much. The reviews were mixed but I thought, nothing to loose (except $12).

Wood Map of Nova Scotia 12 Feet Long!!
Thats not a typo, this map of Nova Scotia is going to be 12 feet long and guess what, now I want one. We got an email late last fall regarding a wood map. As the emails progressed, it turns out they wanted a really large one to fill the wall of their dental office. Jim drafted a sample of what an eight foot map would look like on the picture they sent of the wall space, with us thinking WOW, that’s big. A few more emails and the finished map size they settled on was 12 feet long.

How I built Jim a Mobile Scroll Saw Table
Ha ha. Actually I just helped, but seems someone was taking pictures unbeknownst to me. So without further ado…here is how it went down.

DIY Fairy Door
Every spring we write out a to-do list for the year, most of which we get done and if not it gets carried over for the next year. Anything from build a new deck to paint the baseboards gets put on the list. Quite a few of them for this year are outdoor things which require more consistent warm weather. There is something very satisfying about crossing a finished job off the list.

Operation Tree Removal
When the land was cleared for us to build our house, not many trees were saved. There is one beauty but it is on the other side of the house. So we dug up three young birch trees on our property and replanted them with fingers crossed.

Plywood End Grain Tray
When people hear the word plywood, I imagine they would think ugly, after all it is a utilitarian product in most cases. But a furniture grade plywood like birch can be very beautiful. I especially like the stripey end grain.

Baby Name Wood Sign
A friend contacted Jim with regards to having her baby’s name cut from wood. Fun. We’ve done one other baby name in wood. Remember baby Ruby? Here is how this one went down.

Layered Flag of Nova Scotia
We’ve had the idea for this project pinned to our whiteboard for some time. With the skid steer in the shop, everything in the yard has come to a standstill. Literally. So we figured now would be a good time to work on this layered flag of Nova Scotia.

So Many Maps…So Little Time
If you’ve been reading along on our scroll saw map making journey, you know we love a good wooden map project. We’ve been busy this spring. Between cutting, splitting, stacking, delivering firewood, cutting lumber on the sawmill, plus our regular jobs and life…we have been busy with map projects of all types. They say variety is the spice of life. Don’t know who ‘they’ are, I think ‘they’ are on to something.
