Cracked for Christmas
Just popping in to show you another sign we made recently. It all started with a load of hemlock logs we had delivered earlier in the year. Right away we put a piece of one of the logs on the sawmill and made some slices.
We cut several at the same time.
We didn’t treat them with anything to prevent cracking. We basically wanted to see what would happen to them. Guess what! They cracked. Not surprised.
We decided to take a few of them and paint signs for Christmas. First I painted a white background leaving some of the wood showing around the edge.
Then Jim printed out a template for me to work with.
Once I had the words traced onto the wood I started painting.
Here it is on a plate stand. It also has a hanger on the back for hanging on the wall.
Now if you aren’t cracked for Christmas, perhaps you know someone who is cracked for hockey, or winter. Actually, I don’t know anyone in real life who is cracked for winter. Anyways, if you are cracked you can contact us to personalize your cracked wood slice.
