Christmas Tree and More Maps

Hope you had a good weekend. We had just the right amount of busyness (is that even a word) and down time. We finally got our tree up and decorated. You might think that living on land that used to be a Christmas tree farm, we would have a real tree, but you would be wrong. While the trees were trimmed at one time, they haven’t been touched in several (maybe 15-20) years. They are way too big to come indoors. Sooo… artificial it is. This is one we have had for about 20 years and it will soon be time for a new one.

In other news, a first for us, we got an order for a map of New Jersey on a backer board painted the colours of the American flag.

They also ordered a cutout of Cape Breton, about an inch thick, painted brick red. These were picked up yesterday.

We also had several last minute orders for NS maps as well as “X” maps. The blue X stands for our local university. St. Francis Xavier University.

Jim headed to the workshop early yesterday morning to put a fire in the wood stove. Of course it was our coldest day so far. By mid afternoon it was warm enough to cut some more NS maps out. We also needed more backer boards done up.

We print our own Christmas cards each year. We set up the camera on a tripod and use the timer to take our picture. Here are a few that didn’t make it to the card last year. Check out the boots!!
