Lighthouse Tree Toppers
The last few days we have been working on orders for Christmas. Mostly Nova Scotia maps on backer boards and Cape Breton maps on backer boards. We have already posted about that process but this order also included lighthouses. These lighthouses are 10 to 11 inches tall.
That picture was sent in from a customer. The process began in the workshop. Jim cut out all of the parts and then started assembling the bases.
As with any project, there is always sanding to do.
Here is one partially finished. They still require posts and wire on the upper part.
Next up painting…In one afternoon I had them completely finished. I started with a coat of white and red.
Next up is the antiquing glaze.
Here they are all ready for Jim to add the four posts to the upper part as well as the rope trim.
The hole in the top is perfect for adding a light.
