Wood spirits

Clearly what caught my attention was this old photo showing the tremendous pile of cant beams! Honestly, we will never see piles of wood like that again…ever. But what caught my eye immediately after that was the appearance of a face on the end of one of those beams.

Based on the dress of the women in the photo, maybe 1930’s? Wives or girlfriends of the lumberyard owners or workers maybe.
