cake donuts and blueberry lemon loaf is the reward for moving 2 cord of wood
This morning we moved a cord of wood into the garage, prep for winter. Which means we had an empty wood bin to fill. So after a short break of moving the first cord, I put this cake in the oven to bake while we moved the second cord.
This is a fantastic recipe, and easy to make. It took just about an hour to move the cord and the cake baked in the same time. So our coffee/tea break from the second cord also included warm blueberry lemon yogurt cake. 🙂
Of course, the missus said there’s a tub of sour cream in the ice box, ’bout to go bad. Funny thing is, I thought sour cream was sour for a reason. Anyways, off back to the kitchen and mix up a batch of sour cream cake donuts, dipped in vanilla glaze of course. And the other half a tub of sour cream allowed me to experiment and make a batch of  “Jim Bits”. There was a lemon in the fridge, left over from the previously mentioned cake. Toss that in too I guess, see how that tastes. Scraping what was left of the rind into the batter, and squeezed the juice into the glaze. The rest, to the compost. Nothing is wasted.
And now for your viewing pleasure. If you were here, you could have one… or two. 🙂
I did the frying, Gina did the glazing and we both cleaned up our mess. Clearly she got her’s done first since she’s holding the camera 🙂
