Saturday was a good day to get out and start some spring cleanup, thinning some trees and transplanting 2 red maples.

First task was to transplant 2 red maples that have not been doing so well in their location. Not enough sun. They were growing but very slowly. The fact that they had such a strong root system was surprising. We managed to move these two, so now we have 6 aligned down one side of the driveway.

Next, time for some thinning of the trees. First step is prep work for the tools being used.

First order of business is to prep the chainsaw.

Then its time to trim some of the branches.

Spring cleanup means lots of mosquitoes too!

A few trees have to be removed.

And dragged away.

The quad makes the work a little easier.

It was time to pull out the wood chipper to get rid of the branches but theĀ engine would not run properply. Time for repairs.
