CanadaPost announces new postage rates

We all know #CanadaPost rates are going up April 01 2014. But do you know how much? The brochure is now available in the post office. And, it can be difficult to decipher for some. So here’s the #IMPACT it will have on business. Rates are based on weight and size of the item being shipped. For general purposes, most envelopes are shipped based on weight. 

Within Canada – regular letter size envelope:
0-30g
was $0.65, now $1.00(*)
(*) Single stamps will be available to purchase for a discount rate of $0.85 each if you purchase a booklet of stamps.
31g-50g
was $1.10, now $1.20
over 50g
considered oversized, see next section

Within Canada – non-standard and oversize envelope (like 9×12 inch or 11×13 inch):
0g-100g
was $1.38, now $1.80
101g-200g
was $2.20, now $2.95
201g-300g
was $3.05, now $4.10
301g-400g
was $3.50, now $4.70
401g-500g
was $3.75, now $5.05
over 500g
classed as a parcel, no rates available

Within Canada Parcel Rates:
Do not appear to have changed.

To the USA – regular letter size envelope:
0g-30g
was $1.10, $1.20
31g-50g
was $1.34, now $1.80
over 50g
considered oversized, see next section

To the USA – non-standard and oversize envelope (like 9×12 inch or 11×13 inch):
0g-100g
was $2.20, now $2.95
101g-200g
was $3.80, now $5.15
201g-500g
was $7.60, now $10.30
over 500g
classed as a parcel, no rates available

To the USA Parcel Rates:
Do not appear to have changed.

To anywhere else in the world – regular letter size envelope:

was $1.85, now $2.50
31g-50g
was $2.68, now $3.60
