Finally… after almost 2 months, the glass arrives. I could not get a metal brake to bend the sheet metal so I decided to bend it myself. I tried a scrape piece first for test fit.

I needed a sheet metal panel 13 ft long and 30.5 inches wide. Locally, the widest sheet metal is 24 inches. I tried to borrow a metal brake from a local contractor but he was hard to locate, busy guy. So I decided to bend the metal myself. Slow and steady, it got done and almost as good as what could be done on a brake if I do say so myself. 🙂

Sheet metal creased and almost ready to install.

Here I am installing the front blocks. See the long 4 inch spiral nail about to be driven down? That the block. Now see the space in the foreground that does not have a blocking in place? That’s next.

By the time dusk arrive we had the sheet metal installed and one panel of glass in place. You can see the difference in the sky that the UV coating and “coke bottle green” tint we opted to have applied to the glass.
