Windows replacement at a cottage part 2
I found some spare lumber in the workshop so here I am planing it down to use for interior window trim. I could not find any shiplap 1×8 boards so I bought some pine, cut out the grooves on the table saw and installed them. A fit finish.
Putting the finishing touches on the interior trim. All it needs now is a coat of primer and a couple coats of paint.
This is the second window we worked on, on the opposite side of the cottage. We easily pulled out the old window and replaced it with two vinyl windows. I built a 2×6 box frame with 2×4’s partitioned between the two windows. Then I cut an opening in the wall to fit the box frame.
This cottage has been here for a while. The original lumber is full dimension 2x material and a few layers of exterior siding.
Vinyl windows are easy in install.
All trimmed out with MDF. Ready for a coat of paint and we’re done.
All done!
