Front Step, Walkway and Flower Box Extension part 3

Jack hammer pavement.

The previous walkway was two layers of asphalt pavement. I rented a pneumatic jack hammer that ran on 110v plug in. REAL easy to use and easily made short work of removing pavement. The best $55 spent on what would have been very labour intesive work. The pavement was removed to be replaced with a wooden walkway.

The walkway and flower boxes were an easy installation. I made and installed the 12 foot long flower boxes first. Each located on either side of the walkway. After which I framed the inside and layed down the boards for the walkway. Wiring was run down to the end of the walkway for entrance lighting.

The landing at the end was an afterthought. It made for a nice addition to the project. Here’s a night shot with the lighting on.
