Furniture
I've built a variety of furniture projects over the years.
-
Home bar with a curved top
I’ve been collecting beer bottles for a long time now. When we finally bought our house I had the opportunity to built my own bar.
-
Steamer trunk
This trunk was made from plans (and hardware) purchased from the Woodworkers Journal magazine publication called Today’s Woodworker Issue 29.
-
Row boat
The boat was made from all scrap material. A bit of 1×4 spruce strapping and some 2×8 spruce pieces left over from a set of stairs. The sides are made of 1/4 inch thick plywood. The bow of the boat is capped with a piece of roof flashing.
-
Country pine shelf
This project I made from a photo in a magazine. It is 36 inches long and 8 inches wide at the the top shelf. Made of 3/4 inch #2 pine most of which was scrap stock from the bin. The crown molding was my second attempt at using a 2 inch multi profile molding bit.
-
Double lidded coffee table
This country style double lidded coffee table was relatively easy to build. After all, when you are trying to achieve a rustic looking piece of furniture, bumps and dings, scratches and dents are favorable. 🙂
-
Kitchen cook book case
A simple project made from 3/4 inch red oak. Corners are butt joined and the adjustable shelf tracking is dadoed into the sides to recess it.
-
Bird house lamp
This is a simple project made from scrap board and decorated with tole paints then wired up with a lamp kit purchased from a local hardware store. A perfect way to make use of scrap wood short pieces.
-
Bathroom tissue cabinet
A simple project made from 3/4 inch pine. Corners were joined with a 45 deg miter cut to hide the ends of the boards. Heart shape cutouts done on a scroll saw.
