I've built a variety of furniture projects over the years.

The local 4-H club’s woodworking class has asked me to cut out some projects for their upcoming event. This is simple project is a two step stepstool. They are paying for the materials and I am providing my time at no charge.

4-H Club woodworking project – bookcases
The local 4-H club’s woodworking class has asked me to cut out some projects for their upcoming event. This simple… yet time consuming project is a bookcase that stays together with no nails, screws or glue. Just tapered wedges cut from 1″ diameter hardwood dowels. They are paying for the materials and I am providing my time at no charge.

Double Station Office Desk part 3
Finishing the project required a wood conditioner, a wiped on stain, two coats of polyurethane all over and a third one on top. Each step took about an hour.
Total project time 9 hours.

Double Station Office Desk part 2
Stain is applied. Cost of materials, about $200.00 Cdn. Time invested so far, about 5 hours.
-
Double Station Office Desk
Our home office is expanding and it required a double terminal work station. I designed it to accomdate the equipment we have now which are two full desktop systems and a multi-function copier.

Refinish antique chairs
This chair, and another just like it, came from my wife’s grandmother’s home. The cane is original. The other chair had six coats of various colored paints and an original coating that was orange-like in color. Factory maybe? It was the hardest layer to remove.

Refinishing an Antique Office Chair
I don’t know how old this chair is. Its in rough shape for sure but it has sentimental value to the owner, so its in the process of being refinished. Lots of hand work to do here. The owner doesn’t have a time schedule to have it refinished so we’ll get at it as time permits.

This unit stands 72 inches tall and 22 inches wide and 14 inches deep. The upper and lower cabinets detach for easy transport. This one is made from MDF and surprisingly heavy. Painted with 3 coats latex paint.

End tables to match double lidded coffee table
I made these from 1-1/2″ x 11″ pine stair tread lumber I bought a couple years back, been kicking around the workshop since then. The other pic shows the double lid coffee table and entertainment center I made about 4 years ago.
