Oak watch
Made of 3/4 inch red oak (scrap material) this watch was built from plans in a magazine. The latch and body are stained a golden oak color and the strap is stained a walnut color to resemble walnut wood. A lot of great comments about this watch. I cut everything on the scrollsaw. And while I didn’t have a forstner bit to counter sink the face, I used a hand drill and a bit of tweaking with a hand chisel.

Star Quilt Intarsia
This project used scrap 3/4″ pine boards cut 1″ wide, 1″ long and on a 45 degree miter. The project is 40″ x 40″. I cut all these on the bandsaw. Once the main star was made the rest was custom cut to fit in each area. The cutting took only a couple hours but the fitting took a couple more. The painting took the longest part I think.

New Yankee inspired Library Ladder
One day I watched Norm Abram make this library ladder on tv. I wrote down some notes and made it in my workshop. This project was made from 10 ft of 2×4 pine and 9 ft of 1×6 pine. The angle of the ladder body is 32 degrees with a 3 degree flare at the bottom. Hardware included 5 1-1/2″ strap hinges. The finish is Golden Oak with 2 coat of polyurethane semi gloss. The hardest part was getting the dados correct for the steps (treads).

Teddy bear intarsia
Intarsia… such an odd name, enough to scare some people from even trying such a project. Wooden puzzle… now that sounds more fun!
