Labor Day – Oh Deer!
Labor day 2014 is warm and humid. We were pleasantly visited by a momma deer and her two offspring. đŸ™‚

Visitors this morning
Always a good morning when deer come by for a visit. Especially when they are munching on the greenery that otherwise would of fallen to the whipper snipper. I’ll have to remember to not cut it all down so they have something to nibble on.

Firewood winter prep
September will soon be here so its time to prep the wood sheds for the winter. That means covering up the split firewood to keep the rains and snow off.

Sick wildlife near the homestead
This poor bird, not sure what it is, a grouse maybe, showed up near our front deck just after supper this evening. I’ve seen birds like this before, feathers all puffed out. Something was wrong.

Oh deer…
Another hot day comes to an end. Well over 30 C all day with clear skies and we were outdoors finishing up paint trim on windows, cleared out some wild growth bamboo-like trees/grass and cut down a few overgrown evergreen bushes. I know I’m bushed!
