Spent the day finishing installing the Durock cement board, installing most of the drywall except where the plumberneeds to work. I’ve been told that 1/2 plywood could have been used or “green board” (moisture resistant drywall). I opted to use the Durock.

Removed the tub and framing. Patched the hole where the tub drain went through the floor.

Complete bathroom renovation
A client recently bought a new home (built in 1982) and the bathroom is very small. So they are pushing out the tub 24 inches into the adjacent room. They called upon us for a review and an estimate. We discussed the project, reviewed the reno work involved and I gave them an estimate.

Tricky shed demolition part 2
On our second day, my wife and I spent the morning stripping out the first shed and emptying the second shed. In the picture below, you will see the back wall…rotten…and it slopes to the left. That actually drops about 2 feet. The bottom sill plate of the wall is completely gone so the only thing holding up the wall is the fact its attached to the roof.

Custom cabinets for restaurant coffee bar
A local restaurant, Mother Webb’s, located in Lower South River are updating the look of their coffee bar area. They asked me to replace the 9 ft long cabinet that is located behind their counter.

Monogrammed Gingerbread Custom Scrollwork
This gingerbread scrollwork is a little different that what you would normally see. This will be a monogram design, integrating the initials of the homeowners into the scrollwork design of gingerbread. If you have special request for unique designs to personalize your home, give me a call.

Laminate floor installation
This laminate flooring product is brand named “Dreamfloor” and is 12mil in thickness. Really easy to install and was supplied by y Central Home Improvement Warehouse in Antigonish.

OK, fair warning, this story is about installing laminate flooring and what can happen when you take all the necessary safety precaution with exception to using the proper tool.

Driveway lighting
This project took a few days to do. Three holes dug to below frost level, inserted custom made cement forms, mixed the cement, mounted the anchor bolts and let it cure. Then a 240 foot run of underground wiring for electricity, with pvc piping under the driveway to protect the wiring. Each lamp is rated for 100 watts, but 60 watt bulbs were used. The circuit is controlled with a timer.
