Trembling Aspen Chainsaw Carved Tree
Taking a crack at carving a tree from a block of what I think is Trembling Aspen. One thing is for certain, when cutting with the grain on this wood, you need a really sharp chain, as you will see in the video. -
Wood spirits
Clearly what caught my attention was this old photo showing the tremendous pile of cant beams! Honestly, we will never see piles of wood like that again…ever. But what caught my eye immediately after that was the appearance of a face on the end of one of those beams.

A beautiful start to October
Well today is the 1st of October, and what a great day to start the month. We took advantage of the nice Saturday and set about making more reindeer.

Christmas tree crafts
The spirit of the Christmas tree in these balsam fir scrap wood pieces remains strong! Prior to painting it, it looked like this a few days ago when I was making the most of left over wood that was piling up on the floor.

July comes to an end
The end of July typically tells me we are about half way through our summer. Or is that ‘simmer’? It sure has been a hot month here in Nova Scotia, and little rain fall to show for it.
