Splittin wood in August
With a few clouds to break from the sun, it was still a hot day to do such work. And work it is!

Blocking wood stings… just a bit.
With 14 cords left to block (and split), I’ve been trying to get some time in each evening to pick away at the pile. This evening I found out that I am not allergic to a wasp sting. One can really sting. Two is downright annoying. Getting stung 3 times would put anybody in a bad frame of mind. But I didn’t get stung 3 times, no, not even 4 times…

Bar and chain replacement on a Husqvarna 353G

Wallenstein BX42R wood chipper twig breaker repair
Twig breaker was broke off when I bought this unit. Bought a new one (cost about $75) and when fitting it, the breaker strikes the slots in the flywheel blades. So an adjustment needs to be made with a grinder.

used Wallenstein BX42R wood chipper
We picked up a used wood chipper to manage some of the thinning that is required on the property. Drove a couple of hours to pick it up.

SplitFire wood splitting
Purchased a used SplitFire 255 from a nearby rental shop. The splitter has some real torque to split through some of the toughest wood.

Post and Rail Log Fence part 2
So lets start with peeling the logs.

Post and Rail Log Fence
We’ve seen log fencing before, different types too, and we’ve always liked them. The idea is install a post and rail log fence down the left side of the driveway. The driveway runs about 170-180 ft and we want the log fencing to run pretty much the whole length.
