Bar and chain replacement on a Husqvarna 353G

Husqvarna 353G bar and chain
Out with the old and in with the new.

As rough a shape that this old saw is in, it still runs well and can cut but not when the bar is worn. I took a few measurements and pictures along the way to compare the old and new. Click on any of the images to see a larger one.

 

 

 

Even with my eyesight, its easy to see the bar is worn. I dug out the calipers to compare the differeneces.

Here we can see the bar is well worn, compared to the new.

Even with a broken gas tank handle, this chainsaw with a new bar works great.
