My wife’s father asked us to install a steel roof on his garage. We were happy to do it for him. We started at about 9am.

Her dad said to leave the shingles on, so we get busy setting up and strapping the roof.

Using a spacing block makes for quick work of adding the rows of strapping.

We took an hour for lunch and returned at 1pm. At 5:00 we were done with only a little bit of clean up. The galvanized steel roof is a VicWest product that we purchased at Central Home Improvement in Antigonish. It was a hot day for roofing, about 25 C in the shade, clear blue skies. We didn’t mind that so much, it was the pesky horse flies, or deer flies, or whatever they are called. As big as a house fly, orange eyes and they BITE! Little ^$% !
