Interior painting in 5 hours

What can be done when you have: a couple gallons of paint, two people, paint applicators, ladders and five hours? You can paint the interior living room of your home! Yes, 5 hours and that included a half hour for lunch too!

Below we show some before and after pictures along with some “during” pics. The homeowners chose Benjamin Moore “Sundried Tomato”. The first coat took almost 3 hours for cutting in and first roller of paint. After lunch we had to cut in again most areas but the roller made quick work and we we done in about 90 minutes.

The important part of this whole experience is preparation and having the right tools. We covered the whole floor in plastic so as not to worry about paint spills. And we used high quality trim brushes and roller sleeves. Not all rollers are alike. I can honestly say that spending the money on the proper roller sleeve makes all the difference in ease of application. While cheaper roller sleeves can be bought for under a dollar, I pay about $3-$4 per sleeve. What makes the difference? Much less spray off of the roller, easier to roll on and better coverage.

The pics below really don’t do justice since I do have a cheap digital camera. Maybe the gray day outdoors also played a part. Anyway, here are the photos…
