Double Station Office Desk
Our home office is expanding and it required a double terminal work station. I designed it to accomdate the equipment we have now which are two full desktop systems and a multi-function copier.
I used 3/4″ birch veneer plywood G2S and 1×2 maple for trim. The table top measures 78 inches long and 30 inches wide, 29 inches high. I pre-treated the wood to accept the stain and the stain I used is Benjamin Moore’s “Early American”. I played with some samples and rubbed some Dark Walnut on top of the Early American. It produces a little bit more brown into the color so the jury is still out on that combination. I was also tempted to stain the maple trim a different color, but changed my mind on that to. Actually, this birch veneer is an experiment of sorts. When I go to build the entertainment center, that’s the material I want to use. My stain boards are mostly pine so I don’t have a good idea how birch and maple will react with the Early American.
Assembly on the next day.
